I'm thinking about making a grill for them but not sure what kind of fabric I should use. Can I use any stretchable fabric that is somewhat open or do I specifically need speaker grill cloth?

Let’s talk about loudspeaker grilles- you know, those things that cover the front of your speakers and make them look boring ... may be comb-filtering from the perforation pattern of the metal grille.
