Several victims of a mid-air crash between an American Airlines flight and a military helicopter Wednesday night were identified on Thursday, as officials said they have recovered the passenger jet's black boxes.

Investigators found the recording devices, or black boxes, from the American Airlines plane that collided with a helicopter Wednesday near Washington.

The black boxes of the American Airlines plane submerged in the Potomac River from Wednesday’s crash with a military helicopter have been recovered, the National Transportation Safety Board said late Thursday.
