OSAKA--A life-size wooden statue of the warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi has been discovered at Omiyajinja shrine here, providing a clue to how people worshipped him during his successor's era.

It is found in the western half of Japan. The east Japan tree frog, or Dryophytes leopardus, has been identified as a new species through genetic testing. Thousands of new species are found each year.
