A Massachusetts woman was sentenced to prison for fraudulently taking Social Security benefits after claiming she was not married, despite being married.

Crystal Gesumaria, 41, received almost $100,000 in unlawful Disabled Adult Child benefits over nine years, at times reporting her husband as a friend or roommate, prosecutors said.

The federal government backed off of an earlier plan to sell the property. But that hasn’t reassured some local seniors.
