The sandstone bank, built in 1950 at 1015 Second Ave. of sandstone and red-tinged granite, has sat vacant since February, when bank operations moved to a new building in Renton.

Built in 1922, the Federal Reserve Bank building at 724 N. Hogan St. will feature an upscale restaurant plus an event/banquet space, offices and an exterior courtyard for outdoor dining.

The Federal Reserve Bank supplies money to banks throughout the district, which includes Minnesota, Montana, the Dakotas, and parts of Michigan and Wisconsin. It functions like a bank for the banks.
