The Election Commission of India wrote a letter to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and asked him to substantiate his claims on voter deletion.

Yadav further wrote, "If anyone stops you again, then inform the Election Commission officials or people from political parties present there or complain directly to the Election Commission.

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav attacked the Central government following the hacking of the website of the Election Commission of India leading to issuance of fake voter ID cards.
