Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman are teaming up for a new dark comedy film called The Roses, and fans are buzzing with excitement as the release date has been set for August 29. The flick is an adaptation of Warren Adler's 1981 novel The War of the Roses and is directed by Jay Roach of Austin Powers fame.

Searchlight’s “ The Roses ” starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman, will release on Aug. 29. The dark comedy is directed by Jay Roach (“Bombshell,” “Meet the Parents”) and is written by Tony McNamara (“Poor Things,” “The Great”). “The Roses” is inspired by the 1989 classic “The War of the Roses,” based on the novel by Warren Adler.
