Redding Electric Utility is laying the groundwork to be able to preemptively cut power to some areas of the city this summer if wildfire-prone weather conditions arise and prompt red flag warnings.

If dangerous wildfire conditions arise, REU wants to be able to selectively cut power to high risk parts the city.
