Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a property near Bideford. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said six fire engines were sent to the scene at Northam after fire broke out just after midnight on Thursday.

Smithfield firefighters battled a house fire on Thursday afternoon. According to the Deputy Chief Steve Quattrini, fire crews were alerted of a fire at around 12:45 p.m. Firefighters observed heavy fire outside the house that affected both the first and the second floor when the arrived at the scene on Randall Street.
