For as long as there has been a Belvidere Assembly Plant, freight trains travelling the switch tracks at Appleton Road have created traffic jams that divided and even jeopardized the Illinois city.

According to Belvidere Fire, ComEd is currently on scene to restore power at North State Street and North Appleton Road and Belvidere Police is guiding traffic. No damage or injuries were reported.
