The San Antonio Spurs altered the direction of their franchise when they selected Victor Wembanyama with the first overall pick in 2023. Now, they’ve taken the next logical step in their desire to return to their dynastic run from yesteryear (five titles in a 16-season stretch that saw them clear a 70% win rate 11 times) — get him a running mate.

The 24 players will get drafted into three teams of eight on Feb. 6 by Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley. They’ll play in a new tournament style for the All-Star Game, which will have a fourth team from the winners of the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night before. These were the reserve selections:

Wembanyama becomes only the fourth Spurs player to make the All-Star Game in his first or second season. The others: Alvin Robertson in 1986, David Robinson in 1990 and 1991, and Tim Duncan in 1998.
