Central Texas first responders moved forward with their new partnership to form the Helicopter Search and Rescue Team.

The Austin Fire Department announced a new partnership with city police to create a specialized helicopter rescue unit, expanding emergency response capabilities for water-related emergencies.

One person is in custody after the Austin Police Department SWAT unit responded to a report of a barricaded subject in northeast Austin, the agency said on social media.
