Pen America's Florida Director also issued a statement. Mayor Steven Meiner has called the Oscar-winning documentary "a false one-sided propaganda attack on the Jewish people."

Meiner is introducing city legislation that seeks to terminate the lease agreement with the cinema, which rents space from the city.
