While the 2026 midterms are more than a year and a half away, three special elections happening Tuesday night should give voters in Pennsylvania and across the country a sense of which way the political breeze is blowing.

The result dashes Democrats' hopes of pulling off a major upset in a district Donald Trump carried last November.

They have come out in strong numbers in smaller races so far this year, and in the early voting for today’s elections.
