In today’s episode of Water Is Wet, The Sky Is Blue, And White People Are Exhaustingly Fragile, a Black man has been cast to portray Hogwarts Professor Severus Snape in HBO ‘s forthcoming Harry Potter series, and the Caucasian nerd-o-sphere is predictably salty about it.

The Emmy-nominated actor, who boasts a packed resume, is set to play the mysterious and quick-tempered professor.

John Lithgow previously stated that he had been cast as Dumbledore, which HBO confirmed Monday, along with Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. Those four will all serve as series regulars.
