Shohei Ohtani will throw his first bullpen session on Saturday after the Los Angeles Dodgers' organization agreed to stop his pitching progression last month.

Shohei Ohtani is preparing to take the next step in the ongoing rehab of his right elbow.That step will occur on Saturday, according to Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, when Ohtani will throw a bullpen session for the first time since Feb.

Roberts told reporters Monday that Ohtani, a former Cy Young finalist with the Los Angeles Angels, will throw a bullpen session Saturday. Ohtani hasn’t thrown since Feb. 25 and instead spent spring training focusing on hitting.
