Frustration grows for the mother of one of the victims found in a Northeast El Paso desert as the man convicted in the slayings avoided execution.

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has blocked the execution of convicted El Paso 'Desert Killer' David Leonard Wood, amid lack of DNA evidence.

David Wood, 67, was sentenced to death in 1992 for the killing of six woman and girls in El Paso, Texas. He has spent nearly 33 years on death row for the crimes.

Wood's conviction of the murders of six women and girls in El Paso, Texas in 1987 was largely based on circumstantial evidence. He's set for execution March 13.

The order came just over 48 hours before David Leonard Wood was set to be executed by lethal injection on Thursday.
