Jake Knapp, after a historic 59 in the first round of the Cognizant Classic, struggled to maintain his lead on Friday. Despite a double bogey on the sixth hole, Knapp finished with a 1-under 70, holding a one-shot lead over Matthieu Pavon.

In an opposite way, it was a Perfect Storm of events – no wind, soft greens and little Bermuda rough – that had the leaderboards dripping with red numbers.
