At the Grammys 2025 Sunday in Los Angeles, Beyoncé nabbed her first-ever win for album of the year for Cowboy Carter, her country concept album. She has been nominated four times prior for her albums I Am…Sasha Fierce, Beyoncé, Lemonade, and Renaissance.

Well, the Recording Academy finally decided to recognize the artist Beyoncé for the grandest prize of them all. After four whiffs on Album of the Year, the Grammys awarded Beyoncé with the biggest award of the night for her country crossover hit Cowboy Carter.

Despite the losses for album of the year, Beyoncé has won more Grammys than any other artist in history, earning 32 statues from a whopping 99 nominations.

And the "Big Four" didn’t disappoint, either: Chappell Roan won Best New Artist; Kendrick Lamar won both Song of the Year and Record of the Year for his hit “Not Like Us.” Beyoncé finally won Album of the Year for "Cowboy Carter."

The superstar is the first Black woman to take the prize this century, and the fourth in Grammy history. It was her fifth nomination for the show’s top award.

The show included performances from Chappell Roan, Doechii, Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX. The L.A. wildfires were mentioned throughout the ceremony by winners and presenters.
