Auburn senior Johni Broome was announced as the recipient of the Karl Malone Award, which is given to the top power forward in the country, on Saturday. Broome is the first member of the Tigers to earn the honor. The 22-year-old has averaged 18.7 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in 35 appearances this season.

The 2024-25 season did not end the way Johni Broome and the Auburn Tigers wanted with a 79-73 loss to Florida in the Final Four. Broome did collect another award on Saturday before the game. He was rewarded with the Karl Malone Award that goes to the nation's top power forward.

Before Auburn faces off against the Gators, the NCAA's official social media account revealed that Broome has been named the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year award. Upon the release of the news, some fans took to social media to share their thoughts on Broome's accomplishment.
